High Altitude Warning Zone (14,000+ ft): Oxygen levels here drop by ~40%. This official Adi Kailash Health Advisory outlines the mandatory fitness protocols to prepare your body for the abode of Shiva.
The “30-Day Protocol”: Adi Kailash Health Advisory
You cannot conquer the Himalayas; you can only surrender to them. But first, you must be strong. Start this routine 30 days before your departure.
1. The 10k Promise
The Goal: Walk or jog 5km to 10km daily.
Why? Your legs need endurance for the Om Parvat trek. If you can’t walk here, you can’t walk there.2. Pranayam (Breath)
The Goal: 15 mins of Anulom-Vilom or Kapalbhati daily.
Why? This expands lung capacity, helping you absorb more oxygen in the thin air of Jolingkong.3. Stairway to Shiva
The Goal: Climb 3-4 floors of stairs without stopping.
Why? It mimics the steep incline you will face during the ‘Gauri Kund’ hike.Medical Certificate
Mandatory for all pilgrims. You must possess a valid Fitness Certificate signed by an MBBS doctor.

High Altitude
Zero Tolerance Policy
Alcohol & Smoking are Strictly Prohibited. At this altitude, alcohol suppresses breathing and accelerates dehydration, drastically increasing the risk of fatal AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness).
The “Sacred Pause”
You cannot rush a meeting with Mahadev. At Kuti Village (12,300 ft), we enforce a mandatory ‘One-Day Pause’. This allows your body to manufacture more red blood cells to carry oxygen.
- Acclimatization Walks: Short hikes to adjust lungs.
- Hydration: 3-4 liters of water daily.
